Iowa Able Partners 

The Iowa Able Foundation exists as a collaboration between several groups:

  • The State of Iowa, represented by The Iowa Finance Authority
  • The Iowa Program for Assistive Technology, and
  • PR Lind & Company
Iowa Finance Authority

Established in 1975, the Iowa Finance Authority (IFA) is charged with the primary duty of assisting in the attainment of housing for low to moderate income Iowans. IFA has recognized the needs of individuals with disabilities in low-income settings to obtain adequate financing to make the necessary housing modifications to become independent and productive citizens.

Iowa Program for Assistive Technology (IPAT)

The Iowa Program for Assistive Technology is Iowa's grant project under the Assistive Technology Act (ATA) of 1998.IPAT is supported by the National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research (NIDRR), U.S. Department of Education. IPAT works to promote assistive technology through awareness, training, and policy work. It funded the initial lending program and continues to support Iowa Able Board functions. IPAT operates an information and referral service on assistive technology called InfoTech to help callers find resources for new and used assistive technology and funding.

P. R Lind & Company manage the Iowa Able Foundation providing support to its borrowers and the Board of Directors.
